Poynton WM 7 - Richmond 2nds 3
Was always going to be a tough game for us this as we are separated by 2 divisions. Faulkys report gives a good account of what happened so no need to go into detail just want to say how pleased I was that we didnt give up and gave Workies the occasional scare. Pitch left a lot to be desired and we visibly tired after 70 minutes which gave the Workies chance to stay firm and finish off deservedly winners
Thanks for a good game played in a great spirit. As a new team in our first season you give us something to aim for in the future.

Poynton WMC 7 - 3 Richmond Rovers 2nds
Fixture reversed due to our pitch being double booked, so we were forced to play on the footballers paradise that is woodford rec. Cheers to Richmond for putting the nets up!
A strange first half which included 4 rather bizarre goals. Richmond deservedly took the lead after about 5 minutes, a shot which was parried by our stand in keeper, hit the bar and was then bundled over the line. Richmond worked us hard, but our pressure took effect midway through the half, slightly fotunate to see a cross deflect into the net via a Richmond centre half. Our second goal was qually as fortunate, a shot which rebouded off the post, and off the keeper into the net.
We had the majority of possession, but Richmonds work rate and ability to break caused us far too many problems than it should have. Our third came from a corner which took a few defelctions and ended up in the net from Kyle Woodward's head. 3-1 Half time.
Second half came and Richmond scored almost immediately, a hopeful ball into the box from the wing eluded our keeper and flew into the top corner. We restored our 2 goal cushion with a fine free kick over the wall into the corner.
Again Richmond refused to give in, and a third goal for them was a 25 yards free kick into the top corner, very well taken.
Fortunately for us, Richmond appeared to tire towards the end and we managed to pull away with 3 more goals. One penalty and tap in from myself and a fine finish from tez. Final score 7-3.
Not a perfect performance by any stretch, but through. Richmond played well and showed good spirit to keep coming back. Hope they do well for the rest of the season.

What's this....'Stand-in keeper' thing faulky ?
I sincerely hope you are not alluding to Chris Hilditch being your first as he is back where he belongs and indeed played for us on Sunday............ Ask Ged...
I gave him the fake 'Shoulder-injury' excuse to get out of his contract. It was in fact a skin problem from all the washing up and floor cleaning he does at home in his mansion.
Oh no, young man, don't be getting confused next week when he's not there again.

Thought the game was closer than the scoreline suggested with Bramhall having a few good chances at 1-0 and 2-0 down. Hoylake were clinical but for the second time this season could not have picked a better week to play us with Keeper/captain, centre back and centre mid all banned and half term meaning two other regular starters were on holiday. The team we did put out had a centre mid in net and battled well. Maybe we deserved a better scoreline but not to be. Well reff'd on a pitch that will no doubt be ruined for the rest of the season now. Interesting the way our bans have moved from cup to league games but I guess thats Sunday league for you.

High Lane 1.....Wilmslow 0
As the macc cup team are not allowed out in the rain or below 80 degrees, I had to put this shower out for our visit to Latvia, or wherever it is they play.
But High Lane are still a good team and wouldn't let us play and we never took advantage of all our chances, which amounted to...................... let me think now......... NONE !
because their centre halves were laughing at you all and their midfield ran you ragged. Their goalie went to a massage parlour at half time he was that bored.
It was like going to Cheltenham festival and watching some thoroughbreds being chased by Dolly, Mabel and Alfie and all those other donkeys from Blackpool pleasure beach.

Oh go on Mal........
Gloat, carry on with yourself, never shut up when you've won. Lording it over everyone.
When was that first goal scored by the way, first or second half ?
Even those 11 brownies I brought on sunday can't remember it.
Admit it, that was the worst Wilmslow side you've ever seen.
But the good news is pal.........
And don't tell Hoylake, you promise me ?
I am putting the Macc cup side out next week if there is no rain anywhere.
Beat them 12 or 13 nil and that helps you in the league !
Keep it to yourself though mate. Once you have read this....erase it.

Cheadle Lions 4 Wilmslow Albion 2. Best team won and to be honest this was as poor as we have ever played in a long time. Not helped by missing players and injuries to key players but in truth Cheadle were too worldly wise for us.The only upside is we didn't ever throw in the towel and our keeper scott Etchells was excellent. Goals from Oisin O'Malley who constantly was a thorn in Lions' side and an own goal. Very sporting and an enjoyable contest, even ref Adrian had us laughing.
As an aside and this is in no way a moan about Cheadle who have nothing to do with this, Lacey Green is a disgrace. No changing rooms open so no toilets, no water and having to dress in a car park. Not to mention unmarked lines, shockingly boggy pitch, glass and dog crap.Is this really 2012? I hope Cheadle get some form of refund on their fees because you wouldn't put up with that sort of garbage in any other walk of life.I went on an FA safeguarding course recently, what a joke. FA supports grass roots football? Yeah right...

Yeah, fair assessment of the game that. By no means a classic but enjoyable nonetheless! Wilmslow a decent young side, wiill challenge in the future if they stick together for a couple of seasons.
Lacey green is a joke. To be fair that's as good as the pitch has been!, at least the grass was cut. Whether the changing rooms are open is always a lottery.

And while I'm at it........
What happened to Shirley reserves ?
Bit cold for you was it.
I heard you were playing netball against some sixth-formers from PHS.

Div 3 Cup Group game - Heald Green 0 : 1 FC Gardners
What can I say but well done to FC Gardners. Only 1 shot on target in the entire game made this a rather dire game of midfield mediocrity. Decent defending by both teams and some rather dreadful attacking displays. As ever which Heald Green FC will turn up from one week to the next absolutely non one knows !!!

Fc Fiveways 2-1 disley 2nds
After beating a6 juniors in the cup game a few weeks ago spirits are running high for Fiveways and today was a chance to push on league promotion.
After this game being called off a few weeks ago we was eager to get on with it, the pitch wasn't too bad maybe a few icy patches but nothing too bad, more concerns over the amount of dog poo lying round bakery bridge every time we play there!
The game kicked off and started quite even then Fiveways seemed to get a few good chances and didn't take them then against the run of play disley took they're chance and put it away well!
Fiveways going behind is something we are good at recovering from this season compared to previous ones and after 5-10 mins we worked a great ball from josh in defence to put it wide for our winger to put a nice cross for Our striker to guide in a header.
Nearing half time both teams continued to play good football but no goals, we had two more chances with one on ones with the disley keeper but he did well and made some nice saves.
Second half and If Disley are honest they will agree it was all Fiveways and chance after chance went begging with quite a few just wide and disleys keeper making some great saves again, heading to the last ten and we had to take our keeper off with a hip problem so made a few changes and decided to go three at the back deciding we needed to go for the win, one minute to go and our striker Dave o Mahony decided smashed the ball from the left side of the goal and put it in the corner to win the game.
Could have and should have been 5-6 for Fiveways but like the Disley manager even said we just didn't take our chances like we should!
Anyway a wins a win and we'll take it to go joint top with a6,just a shame we didn't turn up before Christmas for two games!!
Next week we play Disley again and look forward to it, good lads and good football but fixtures could have been rearranged better, we've still not played A6 juniors in the league yet and could be a couple of great games!!!!
Both Fiveways goals scored by Dave o mahony
The Game was played on a pitch more suited to mud wresteling than football, after a fairly even opening 20 minutes hoylake began to put more pressure on the bramhall defence & made the breakthrough in the 25th minute when Tony Barras found the net after twice going close earlier, steadier finishing would have made it more comfy for us but we held out till half-time at 1-0, the second half we started where we left off in the 1st by applying pressure,in the 51st minute we got the 2nd with Eddie Carmody finishing off a good move,we had to wait a further 30mins to get the 3rd through Tommy Sliegh after good work by sub Warren Jones, our last goal came 4minutes from time through Carl Waters, given the state of the pitch there was good football played by both sides, the game was Well reffed by a new ref to the league Jeff Smith who was making his Debut in the League today.
